KPMG has introduced a distinctive corporate mentoring initiative, “Discover. Experience. Enable.”, designed to equip youths aged 19 to 28 with creativity, critical thinking, ethical judgment, and other human skills that AI cannot replicate.

“The next generation will inherit an economy shaped by AI and the environment,” said Shelley Chan, Partner, People, Performance and Culture, KPMG in Singapore, who oversees people strategy in Singapore. “We’re equipping tomorrow’s changemakers to lead at the nexus of innovation and sustainability, by cultivating versatile skillsets that are valued across industries and essential to shaping a more resilient future.”
Mentoring model
Through a robust and strategic partnership with the National Youth Council (NYC), the programme offers youth tailored mentoring opportunities with KPMG’s industry specialists and experts.
KPMG is committing a substantial 10,000 hours over one calendar year for mentoring, job shadowing, and learning exchanges. This large-scale initiative aims to provide:
- Cross-Functionality with mentors from various departments such asAudit, Tax, Consulting and Deal Advisory, covering topics like AI and innovation, sustainability and workforce transformation
- Future-Focused and Practical: Learners can learn various topics, from leadership capabilities and multidisciplinary thinking to ethical judgment
- Authentic and Applied: Mentors share diverse industry experiences, case studies and challenges in emerging technologies and sustainability.
- Corporate-Led: Mentoring ensures structure, accountability and national reach.
The training program also helps mentees in job discovery, exposure, and enablement, providing them with practical skills and industry insights.
The initiative aims toexpose youths to high-growth global sectors in AI, decarbonisation, and sustainable impact, strengthen Singapore’s pipeline of future-ready professionals, and grow future generations of leaders who drive excellence across industries and functions.
